Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Areas

Metropolitan statistical areas are geographical areas defined by the US Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for use by Federal agencies. An MSA contains a core urban area with a population of 50,000 or more and includes the counties containing the core urban area and any adjacent counties that have a strong social and economic relationship with the urban core.

Kentucky includes all or part of nine MSAs.
