Franklin, Kentucky
Franklin, the seat of Simpson county, was established in 1819 as the seat of the new county and named to honor Benjamin Franklin.
Franklin was incorporated in 1820.
The Franklin post office opened in 1822.
The population in 2020 was 10,080.
