Thelma, Kentucky

Thelma is a Johnson county town east of Paintsville on KY 1107 and the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River. A Buskirk station on the C&O railroad was established at the site in 1903, named for a local family. The Thelma post office opened in 1905, named for a local resident.

Thelma is the home of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Training Center.
