Alton Station is an Anderson county community about four miles northwest of Lawrenceburg. The community was established with the arrival of the railroad and named for the nearby community of Alton. It was also known as New Alton. It is now a rural suburb of Lawrenceburg.

The Alton Station post office operated from 1890 to 1963.
