Beaver Lick, Kentucky

Beaver Lick was a Boone county community about 13 miles south of Burlington on Beaver Branch of Big Bone Creek. In the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries it was the a collection point for fur trappers and a small commercial center. The post office opened in 1853 as Beaver Lick, was later renamed Beaverlick, and closed in 1944.
