Bloomingdale is a Clark county community on Upper Howards Creek about nine miles southeast of Winchester. The area had been known as Allansville or Allensville for local landowner Frank S. Allan. The source of the Bloomingdale name is not known.

The Bloomingdale post office operated from 1893 to 1917.
