Cannonsburg, Kentucky
Cannonsburg is a Boyd county community about seven miles west of Catlettsburg on the East Fork of the Little Sandy River. The name comes from Jeremiah Cannon, an early settler. An East Fork post office operated intermittently from about 1839 to 1850 when it was renamed Cannonsburg. The Cannonsburg post office closed in 1932. The population of the Cannonsburg census designated place in 2010 was 856.
