Chalybeate, Kentucky
Chalybeate is an Edmonson county community about five miles south of Brownsville. It was established in the nineteenth century as a resort around the mineral springs, for which it was named. The hotel closed circa 1945. The Chalybeate Springs post office opened in 1888, the name was shortened to Chalybeate in 1895, and closed in 1931.
