Coldiron, Kentucky

Coldiron is a Harlan county community about seven miles west of Harlan on the Cumberland River and below the Salt Trace Gap of Pine Mountain. It was named for the local Coldiron family.

The Coldiron post office opened in 1928.

The population of the Coldiron census designated place was 223 in 2010.
