Curdsville, Kentucky Area

Curdsville is in Mercer county about nine miles northeast of Harrodsburg near the Dix River. It is now the site of the Kentucky Utilities E.W. Brown Generating Station, which produces electricity using hydro power, natural gas, coal, and a 50-acre solar panel installation.

Near Curdsville is Dix Dam, completed in 1925 by Kentucky Utilities. It impounds Herrington Lake, which covers about 2,335 acres.
