Cutshin, Kentucky
Cutshin is a community in eastern Leslie county on Cutshin Creek about eight miles southeast of Hyden. The village was no doubt named for the creek, but the source of that name is obscure. There are stories involving sharp rocks, ice, or an accident with an ax. Cutshin or Cut Shin post offices operated at various locations on the creek from 1860 to 1992.
