Eminence, Kentucky
Eminence is a Henry county city about five miles from New Castle. It is said to be named for its position as the highest point on the railroad between Louisville and Lexington.
Eminence was incorporated in 1851.
A Bayard post office opened nearby in Shelby county in 1836 and was moved and renamed Eminence in 1850.
The population in 2020 was 2,717.
