Firmantown, Kentucky
Firmantown is a Woodford county community where Paynes Mill Road crosses the railroad about two miles east of Versailles. It was established as an African-American hamley, possibly circa 1870. It may be named for a Furman who lived there. The residents worked on the surrounding farms. It is laid out with two short streets – First and Second Streets – and now includes about a dozen houses.
