Future City, Kentucky
Future City, Kentucky

Future City is a McCracken county community about 10 miles west of Paducah. It's possible the name comes from its proximity to the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, which was constructed in 1952. The plant enriched uranium for use in nuclear weapons and power plants. Operations ended in 2013 and the plant is being decommissioned.
