Glenmore, Kentucky

Glenmore was a Warren county community about 18 miles north of Bowling Green on the Green River.

The Glenmore post office opened in 1893 and closed in 1955.

Green River Lock and Dam 5 was located at Glenmore. The dam was completed circa 1900, but the lock was not used after Lock and Dam 4 downstream at Woodbury failed circa 1965. Lock and Dam 5 was removed in 2021. The upstream Lock and Dam 6 was located at Brownsville.

The Massey Springs Resort

Downstream from Glenmore was the Massey Springs Resort. It was established at a natural mineral spring in the 1890s by James Massey with most visitors travelling by river. The original small hotel burned circa 1905 and new owners built a three-story, 40-room hotel that operated until 1915. Very little remains now.
