Hell for Certain, Kentucky
Hell for Certain, Kentucky

Hell for Certain is a Leslie county community about ten miles northwest of Hyden on Hell for Certain Creek. The name is also seen as Hell-Fer-Sartin, although that is not actually used by area residents, who may find it offensive.

Various post offices have operated in the area, at various locations, although the U.S. Post Office would never allow the name Hell for Certain. The Osha post office operated from 1906 to 1907. The Omarsville post office opened in 1929, was renamed Kaliopi in 1945, and closed in 1981.
