High Knob, Kentucky
High Knob is a Jackson county community about 16 miles southeast of McKee. It was named for the nearby High Knob, elevation 1,387 feet, which is across the boundary in Clay county. The location has also been known as Stringtown.
The High Knob post office opened in 1876 and closed in 1939.
