Kenvir, Kentucky
Kenvir is a Harlan county community on Yocum Creek about eight miles east of Harlan. It was established circa 1919 by the Black Mountain Coal Company and was later owned by Peabody Coal. The name comes from the nearby Kentucky-Virginia border. The Kenvir post office opened in 1921. The population of the Kenvir census designated place in 2010 was 297.
