McRoberts, Kentucky
McRoberts is a Letcher county community located on Wrights Fork about 10 miles northeast of Whitesburg. It was established in 1912 by the Consolidation Coal Corporation and named for Samuel McRoberts, a banker with ties to the company. The population peaked near the mid-twentieth century at about 2,000.
The McRoberts post office opened in 1912.
The population of the McRoberts census designated place in 2010 was 784 in an area of 5.6 square miles.
