Mexico, Kentucky
Mexico is in Crittenden county about six miles south of Marion. It was established when fluorspar mining began in the 1880s. The railroad arrived about 1885. The reason for the name is obscure. The Mexico post office opened in 1896, closed in 1904, reopened in 1905, and closed in 1957.
