Mitchells Mill, Kentucky
Mitchells Mill was a Robertson county community about five miles southeast of Mount Olivet at Johnson Creek. (When settlement began it was within Nicholas county.) It was named for the Mitchell family who arrived in the area in the first half of the nineteenth century. They bought land including an existing mill in 1846. Eventually lots were sold, houses were built, and several businesses were established: additional mills, a tanyard, a distillery, a furniture factory, and a hotel. The fledgling town seems to have been abandoned around 1880.
Mitchells Mill apparently never had a post office.
