Monticello, Kentucky
Monticello, the seat of Wayne county, is located near the center of the county on Elk Spring Creek. Monticello was established when the county was formed in 1800 and named for the home of Thomas Jefferson.
Monticello was incorporated in 1810.
The Monticello Court House post office opened in 1803.
The population in 2020 was 5,712.
