New Market, Kentucky
New Market is a Marion county community on the Rolling Fork about six miles southwest of Lebanon. The name was also spelled New-Market and Newmarket. The New Market post office opened in 1820 and closed later in the nineteenth century.
New Market could be the site of the proposed town of Lystra that was promoted in the late eighteenth century, but was never built.
