Scottsville, Kentucky
Scottsville, the seat of Allen county, was settled about 1797, beginning as a stop on the stage route south of Louisville. The town was established in 1816 when the county was formed and named for Charles Scott, a former governor of Kentucky.
Scottsville was incorporated in 1817.
The Allen Court House or Scottsville post office opened in 1816.
The population in 2020 was 4,288.
