Slade, Kentucky
Slade is a Powell county community near Natural Bridge State Resort Park and the Red River Gorge Geological Area about eight miles southeast of Stanton. It was probably named for T.B. Slade of the Kentucky Union Railway. The railroad station was variously known as McKnabb, Dundee, and finally Slade.
A McKnabb post office, named for a local family, opened in the area in 1888 and closed the next year. The Slade post office opened in 1890.
