The Bennetts Mill Bridge was built in 1855 over Tygarts Creek in northern Greenup county. It is a 159-foot Wheeler truss bridge, the only example still standing. It is off KY 7 near Bennetts Mill, about eight miles south of South Shore. The stone for the bridge abutments came from a dismantled iron furnace located nearby.
The bridge was damaged by high water in 1997 and one end was partly washed out. It was later restored.
This is one of Kentucky's remaining covered bridges.
