Artemus, Kentucky
Artemus is a Knox county community on the Cumberland River and Brush Creek about four miles southeast of Barbourville. It grew around the Artemus Station, on land given by Artemus Herndon in 1888, on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad.
The Elon post office opened in 1888, was renamed Brush Creek in 1889, and Artemus in 1891.
The population of the Artemus census designated place in 2010 was 590.
