Bethany is a Wolfe county community about eight miles southeast of Campton. It grew around the Bethany Orphanage, established in 1926, and later known as the Bethany Children's Home. It is now the Bethany Christian Mission Center, a residential school.

The Bethany post office opened in 1928 and closed in 2010.
