Burkley, Kentucky
Burkley is a Carlisle county community about seven miles southwest of Bardwell. It was a farming community and became a station on the Mobile and Ohio Railroad. The name came from the railroad and has also been spelled Berkley. The town may have been incorporated until sometime in the early twentieth century. A Pickett post office opened in 1882, was renamed Burkley in 1883, and later closed.
