Carrsville, Kentucky
Carrsville is a Livingston county town on the Ohio River about 16 miles north of Smithland. It was established in the early nineteenth century and became an important river landing. The name comes from Billy Karr, local shopkeeper, and the site became known as Karrs or Carrs Landing.
Carrsville was incorporated in 1860.
The Carrsville post office opened in 1854.
The population in 2010 was 50.
Southwest of Carrsville is the Mantle Rock Nature Preserve, owned by the Nature Conservancy, which is 367 acres and includes the Mantle Rock arch. Adjacent to the Preserve is part of the Livingston County Wildlife Management Area and State Natural Area.
