Charlotte Furnace, Kentucky

Charlotte Furnace was a Carter county community on Tygarts Creek about eight miles northwest of Grayson. The Charlotte iron furnace was known as the Iron Hills furnace until about 1875. It wasn't used beyond about 1880. The Charlotte Furnace post office operated from 1875 to 1951.
