Iron Hill was a Carter county community on Tygarts Creek about eight miles northwest of Grayson. It was the site of an iron furnace known as Iron Hills that was constructed in 1873 by the Riverton Iron and Manufacturing Company and operated until about 1875 when it was sold and renamed Charlotte furnace.
