Cottonburg, Kentucky

Cottonburg was a Madison county community about 12 miles west of Richmond on Poosey Ridge. It was named for a local Cotton family.

The Cottonburgh post office opened in 1886, spelled Cottonburg by 1894, and closed in 1974.
