Curdsville, Kentucky

Curdsville is a Daviess county community about 13 miles west of Owensboro on the Green River at the mouth of Panther Creek. It was settled in the early nineteenth century and the town was laid out in 1848. It was an important river port and commercial center. The name comes from H. T. Curd, who captained a river boat and was said to have provided a barrel of whiskey.

The Curdsville post office operated from 1855 to 2010.
