Hanson, Kentucky
Hanson is a Hopkins county city about a mile north of Madisonville. It was named for Henry B. Hanson of the Evansville, Henderson, and Nashville Railroad which arrived at the site in 1869. Hanson was incorporated in 1873. The Hanson post office opened in 1869. The population in 2010 was 742.
