Harold, Kentucky
Harold is an eastern Floyd county community on the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River about 15 miles southeast of Prestonsburg. It was established around 1830 and named for Harold Hatcher, a local merchant and descendant of the early settlers in the area. Harold now includes the community of Laynesville.
The Harold post office opened in 1905.
