Hymon, Kentucky

Hymon is a Calloway county community about 20 miles southeast of Murray, close to Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee state line. The Hymon post office opened in 1902 and closed in 1943.

Nearby is the site of the Civil War-era Fort Heiman, which was built by the Confederate army on the bluff above the Tennessee River in 1862. It is now part of the Fort Donelson National Battlefield.
