Mayfield, Kentucky
Mayfield, the seat of Graves county, is located near the center of the county near Mayfield Creek. It was settled about 1819 and was named for the creek, which was possibly named for George Mayfield, a settler who may have died in the creek.
Mayfield was incorporated in 1846.
The post office opened in 1823.
The population in 2020 was 10,022.
