Maytown, Kentucky
Maytown is a Floyd county community along the Right Fork of Beaver Creek about 10 miles south of Prestonsburg. Settlement began in the early nineteenth century and the name comes from the May family of settlers. There was already a Maytown post office in Kentucky, so the post office was called Langley, also for a local family. The Langley post office opened in 1890 and closed in 2010. The population of the Maytown census designated place in 2010 was 243.
