Peaks Mill, Kentucky

Peaks Mill is a Franklin county community on Elkhorn Creek about eight miles north of Frankfort. Thomas Gouldman established a mill in 1817 and it was sold to John Peak in 1838. Peaks Mill was incorporated in 1873 and was later dissolved. A misspelled Pecks Mill post office opened in 1856, was briefly called Tiger, and closed in 1859. A Peaks Mill post office opened in 1877 and closed in 1907.
