Pembroke, Kentucky
Pembroke is a Christian county city just southeast of Hopkinsville on US 41. It was named for Pembroke Somerset, a character in Thaddeus of Warsaw, an 1803 novel. (The city of Warsaw in Gallatin county was named for the novel a few years earlier.) Pembroke was incorporated in 1869. The Pembroke post office opened in 1836. The population in 2010 was 869.
