Pilcher, Kentucky
Pilcher was in Meade county north of the mouth of Otter Creek on the Ohio River. It was Pilcher Station on the Louisville, Saint Louis, and Texas Railway and there was a Pilcher Landing on the river by the late nineteenth century. The name comes from a local family. It is now within Fort Knox.
The Pilcher post office opened in 1915 and closed in 1925.
Near Pilcher was the Ohio River Lock and Dam 43. The upstream dam 41 was at Louisville (there was no dam 42). The downstream dam 44 was near Peckenpaugh.
