Sacramento, Kentucky
Sacramento is a southern McLean county city between Pond River and Cypress Creek five miles south of Calhoun. The settlement was first known as Crossroads, but the town was established in 1854 and called Sacramento, probably for the place in California.
Sacramento was incorporated in 1860.
The post office opened in 1852 as Social Hill and was renamed Sacramento in 1861.
The population in 2020 was 428.
The Civil War Battle of Sacramento took place in the area in and around Sacramento in December, 1861.
