South Williamson, Kentucky
South Williamson is a Pike county community on Tug Fork about 25 miles northeast of Pikeville. The name refers to Williamson, West Virginia, which is across the Tug Fork. The area was settled in the late eighteenth century and the site of the town was owned by Benjamin Williamson. There apparently was never a South Williamson post office. The population of the South Williamson census designated place in 2010 was 602 in an area of 1.98 square miles.
