Taylorsport, Kentucky
Taylorsport is a Boone county community on the Ohio River at the mouth of Elijahs Creek about six miles northeast of Burlington. The town was established in the early nineteenth century by James Taylor and was originally known as Taylorsville. The name was changed to Taylorsport in 1849.
The Taylorsport post office opened in 1909 and closed in 1959. There may have been an Elijahs Creek post office earlier.
Near Taylorsport was the Ohio River Lock and Dam 37. The upstream dam 36 was near Brent and the downstream dam 38 was near Belleview.
