Torrent, Kentucky

Torrent, a Wolfe county community about 11 miles southwest of Campton on the Middle Fork of Red River, was once the site of the L. Park Hotel, built by the Lexington and Eastern Railroad in 1890 and destroyed by fire in 1935. The town was named for a nearby waterfall. The railroad stopped service in the 1930s.

The Torrent post office opened in 1890 and closed in 1950.
