Tribbey is a Perry county community on Jakes Branch about five miles northeast of Hazard. Tribbey was established as as a coal camp named. The source of the name is not known. It was also a station on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad.

The Tribbey post office opened in 1919 and closed in 1984.
