Tunnel Hill, Kentucky

Tunnel Hill was a Hardin county community about four miles northeast of Elizabethtown. The Louisville and Nashville Railroad crossed Muldraugh Hill northeast of Elizabethtown about 1858. A 2,000 foot long tunnel went into use in 1860 and was bypassed by a 4,600 foot long cut about 1927. The location is sometimes spelled Tunnel Hills.

The Tunnel Hill post office operated from 1875 to 1934.
