Wedonia was a Mason county community about eight miles south of Maysville at the junction of the Maysville Road (KY 11) and the Helena Road (KY 324). Originally known as Millwood, it became known as Wedonia, named for a member of the local Weedon family.

The Wedonia post office opened in 1892 and closed in 1924.
