Westwood is a Boyd county community, a suburb on the northwest of Ashland, about seven miles northwest of Catlettsburg. It was developed beginning circa 1920.

Westwood has never been incorporated.

It has never had a post office.

The population of the Westwood census designated place in 2010 was 4,746 in 3.8 square miles.

There is another Westwood in Jefferson county.
